A comprehensive checkup of your cat or dog to ensure they remain happy and healthy.
When it comes to your pet’s health, prevention is really better than cure. Routine veterinary exams can detect and prevent many illnesses. Ultimately, exams can prolong your pet’s life and save you from medical bills. At Valley Veterinary Services, we believe that education helps our clients provide the best care to their pet companions.
Veterinary exams are designed to establish the overall well-being of your pet and detect health issues in the early stages. Our team is trained to make your pet feel comfortable as we carry out the exam. We may carry out various testing of blood, urine, and imaging to spot any health issues in your pet. Our veterinarians will also ask questions about your pet’s habits, behaviours, lifestyle, diet, and exercise to paint an accurate picture of your pet’s health. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask your veterinarian any questions you have about your pet like weight, abnormal findings, genetics, and more. Based on the findings from the exam your veterinarian can determine what diets, medications or exercise your pet needs to stay healthy.
Pets age much faster than humans, therefore they require more check-ups than we do. An annual exam in pets is equivalent to humans going to the doctor every four years for a physical examination. Middle-aged to senior pets need to be examined twice per year, while puppies and kittens should receive three veterinary exams in their first year of life.
