How can I spot arthritis in my pets?

It may be difficult to spot arthritis in your pets since their natural instinct is to hide pain. That being said here are some signs you can look out for:

• Reluctance to groom or sharpen claws
• Difficulty getting into litter boxes
• Difficulty getting down from furniture
• Irritability especially when touched in the sore areas
• Less playful/immobile
• Less fit as the pain worsens
• Limping/ slower pace

How is arthritis treated in pets?

Some of the most common ways to treat arthritis are:

• Prescription medication (to relieve pain)
• Physical rehabilitation – proper exercise helps maintain mobility in joints
